1 Feb – 2 FebAbolition of Slavery DayRemembering emancipation, the root of Kreol identity. Monday 2 Feb is the observed holiday.
3 AprGood FridayVandredi Sen. The quietest day of the Seselwa year.
4 AprEaster SaturdayA public holiday at home.
6 AprEaster MondayBeach picnics and family time.
1 MayLabour DayLafet Travayer.
4 JunCorpus Christi (Fet Dye)Processions in Victoria and the districts.
18 JunConstitution DayThe 1993 constitution, the third republic.
29 JunIndependence (National) DaySesel's day. 1976. Flags out in every hub, from London to Perth.
15 AugAssumption Day, La Digue FeastThe island pilgrimage. La Digue fills with the whole nation, and the diaspora flies home for it.
24 Oct – 31 OctFestival Kreol (dates TBC) FestivalThe mother festival returns in October 2026. Bal bobes, moutya, Dimans Kreol. Perth's Seychellois Club traditionally holds its own edition the same week.
1 Nov – 2 NovAll Saints' DayLatousen. Candles on family graves, and lit in windows abroad.
8 DecImmaculate ConceptionFeast of the patroness of Seychelles.
25 DecChristmas DayNwel. Midnight mass, carols in Kreol.
Festival Kreol 2026. The mother festival marked its 40th edition in 2025 and returns in October 2026. Exact dates come from the Seychelles National Institute of Culture, Heritage and the Arts closer to the time. Tradition says the last week of October, ending with Dimans Kreol on the beach.
