Renewing a Seychelles passport from abroad is a known dance with exactly three venues. Here are the steps, so you do them once.
Who issues passports abroad
Only three Seychelles missions handle ordinary passports overseas. The High Commission in London, the Embassy in Paris and the Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Every other mission and honorary consulate will redirect you to one of these or to Victoria. Addresses and phones are on the consulates page.
The steps
- E-verification first. Before contacting any mission, request e-verification by email from Immigration Seychelles (Immigration and Civil Status). This confirms your identity against the national record. Start at ics.gov.sc.
- Then book the mission. With verification in hand, contact London, Paris or Abu Dhabi for an appointment. Seychelles passports have been biometric since November 2022, so new applications capture your data digitally and the old paper forms are gone.
- Documents and fees. ICS publishes the current requirements and fees. Check the ICS page rather than trusting any list that has been sitting on the internet for years, including this one.
If you are nowhere near those three cities
Ask the nearest mission on the consulates page what they can witness or forward, and ask ICS whether a trusted-person collection in Victoria works for your case. Some of the diaspora simply renew during a home visit, which remains the fastest path if a trip is coming anyway.
Emergency travel documents
Lost or stolen passport abroad? Contact the nearest mission immediately for an emergency travel document, and file a police report where you are. The MFA consular assistance page covers what the state can and cannot do.
