The business and skills registers

ANSER · THE SHORT VERSION

Two free registers, both opt-in and never pay-to-play: a directory of Seychellois-owned businesses worldwide, and a skills register of diaspora professionals willing to help Seychelles. They are open for submissions now and hold only what real people add. There is nothing to buy and no ranking to game; the listing is free and the order is neutral.

KEY FACTS · EACH ONE SOURCED
  • Both registers are free, opt-in, and carry no paid placement or advertising [ORAL HISTORY ASSN]

The diaspora is full of Seselwa who build things and know things. Two simple registers help them find each other and help Seychelles find them. Both are free, both are opt-in, and neither will ever sell a place or take an ad.

The diaspora business directory

A directory of businesses owned by Seychellois around the world, so a Seselwa in Perth can find a Seselwa supplier in London, and so the community can back its own. To be listed, a business is Seychellois-owned, real, and added by its owner. Listings are free and unranked, in plain order, with no featured slots for sale. We would rather show ten real businesses than a hundred padded ones.

The skills register

An opt-in list of diaspora professionals, doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, tradespeople, artists, willing to mentor, advise or lend a hand to Seychelles and to each other. This is exactly the resource the government's own Diaspora Unit has said it wants to build, and a diaspora that can be called on is a diaspora with weight. You choose what to share and can withdraw at any time.

How to be added

For now, submissions come through us directly so a person checks each one, which is how we keep the registers real. Write to hello@seychellesabroad.org with your business or your skills, or start from the registry. As the community grows we will open a self-service form, but the rule will not change: free, opt-in, verified, never pay-to-play.

Why these lists are short, or empty. A directory is only worth trusting if everything in it is real. We will not seed these registers with scraped or invented entries to look established. They fill as real Seselwa opt in, and that honesty is exactly what makes a listing here mean something.
